This is an example of an "Event".  An event is a lot like a typical "Page" but you can add some date related information to it.  The date information can be displayed on the page (like over there on the right) or it can be hidden (that's a choice to make during the development stage).  It can also be styled to look different if you don't like the standard box.

But the big deal about Events is that they will automatically end up in date-related lists, calendar views, and smart folders.  Click the "Events" link in the Navigation to see this event in the list.  Note that this event does not exist in the "Events" folder, (it actually can't because the Events folder is not a real folder) it exists in the "What We Do" folder.  The "Events" smart folder will display events regardless of where they exist on your site.
