The goal of our Transitional Housing Program is not just to provide a house, but to provide a home.  The resident advisors create home and community, providing a link of respect, care, and support on a resident's journey out of homelessness and into permanent housing.  The resident advisors manage each home by seeing that everything from ensuring their physical upkeep and maintenance to checking that chores are completed.

The resident advisors make themselves readily available every day to their residents as a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen to a concern, a hand offered to shake in acknowledging success.  In addition to their daily work with the residents, the resident advisors facilitate community growth through a weekly house meeting; it is also at these meetings that the resident advisors check-in on how residents are doing regarding adherence to their medications and visits to their primary care doctors.

From their observation of residents' physical and mental health, the resident advisors ask questions, offer suggestions, and, if needed, become a part of the agency team at a Care Conference for a resident in need of additional supports.  We thank you each so much for the vital service you provideto these residents!
